I was chatting with a client a few days ago about what she could and couldn’t control from a business perspective, and through our conversation, she identified what she could control and hence where she could focus her energy and activity.
It got me thinking about this word ‘control’.
Circumstances… and let’s face it, we face many of these most days, are things outside our control. They could be as simple as the weather, things in our past, even other people.
However, sometimes we often forget that we can’t actually control other things or people!
Yes, that’s right, you can’t control circumstances.
I know, it isn’t what you want to hear, is it? 😊
The good news, though, is you can control everything else.
You can control what you decide to think.
You can control how you feel.
You can control what you do.
Here are a few questions for you.
What will you choose to think when you are faced with your first challenge of the week?
How will you choose to feel this week irrespective of what’s going on around you?
What will you choose to do when you know you need to have a difficult conversation with one of your team members?
Are You Feeling Stuck?
Having coached thousands of people over the years, I have noticed a pattern that stops people from moving forward and there are 3 straightforward ways to shift this that I share in my latest video series.
Till next time,
